Bilingual proofreading

Our bilingual proofreading service involves a trained proofreader with relevant language and sector skills checking your translation against the source text. Both the translator and the proofreader cooperate to ensure that the finished text reads well and adheres as closely as possible to the original.

Monolingual proofreading

Codex Global provide a full monolingual proofreading service. This ‘traditional’ proofreading of a single document is available in over 150 languages.

Our proofreading standards

All of our proofreaders follow strict quality assurance procedures to ensure that your proofreading job is completed to the very highest standards. This includes carefully assessing the three following areas:

  1. Style. By following a strict brief and adhering to your company’s brand guidelines, we will ensure that the style of the original text is carried through into the final proof.
  2. Content. Your proofreader will check that the document communicates the intended message to the reader in a clear, consistent and accurate way.
  3. Flow. They will then go on to check the organisation of the document to make certain the style and content is ordered coherently. We also provide an editing service that can be very useful when the source content for translation has not been written by a native speaker.

Fully trained linguists

All our proofreaders and translators are trained translators with particular areas of specialty. This enables your project manager to choose the right translator and proofreader for your brand and the markets in which you operate.

Professional accreditation

All our translators are accredited by professional bodies in the translation industry such as the Institute of Translators and Interpreters (ITI) or the Institute of Linguists (IOL). We are a corporate member of the ITI as well as being an established member of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).

ISO9001 and BS EN 15038

Codex Global are ISO9001:2008 accredited, which proves that we have well-documented quality management systems and procedures in place. We also have the BS EN 15038 accreditation, which is an international standard setting out best practice for the provision of translation services. Our quality assurance processes are supported by the latest tools and technology. We tailor our QA procedure to the needs of individual clients to take care that their critical business needs are met.
